The Company, its officers, directors, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, licensors, and suppliers (collectively, "Affiliated Parties") expressly disclaim all liability for any damages, losses, or harm arising from your use of the Platform, reliance on its content, or any actions taken as a result of such reliance. Use of the Platform is entirely at your own risk.

If you create an account on the Platform, you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify the Company immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. The Company is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to maintain account security.
The Platform offers rent history analysis based on publicly available records and user-submitted data. The Company does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the data or analysis provided. The Company assumes no responsibility for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in the content.
Landlords, property managers, and individuals currently or formerly associated with properties listed in the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) Multiple Dwelling Registration records have the right to claim their individual page on the Landlord Network Explorer.

All data displayed on RentHistory.org is sourced from publicly accessible government records and other verified public-interest data. By claiming a page, the claimant agrees that any customization options shall not alter or override the integrity or availability of these public records.
RentHistory.org reserves the right to revoke or suspend page management privileges in cases of abuse, misinformation, or violation of platform terms.
By claiming or managing a page on the Landlord Network Explorer, the user expressly agrees to these Terms of Service and, as a condition of participation, waives and releases any and all rights to file, initiate, or pursue legal claims, demands, or actions of any kind against RIOT MOTION LLC, its owners, officers, employees, affiliates, contractors, or partners, whether in contract, tort, equity, or otherwise, arising directly or indirectly from:
This includes, but is not limited to, claims relating to reputational harm, indexing or search visibility, search engine results, or content placement.
The optional "no index" feature is provided as a courtesy tool and does not guarantee removal or suppression of any page from search engine results.
By enabling the no-index feature, the user acknowledges and agrees that RIOT MOTION LLC shall not be held liable for any outcome, delay, or failure of search engines to remove or suppress content.
Third-Party Payment Processor:
RentHistory.org uses Stripe as its third-party payment processor to securely handle all payment transactions. By submitting your payment information, you agree to Stripe’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. RentHistory.org does not store or process your payment details directly.
Non-Tax Deductibility:
RentHistory.org is not a nonprofit or 501(c)(3) organization. Payments made on the Platform are not tax-deductible.
Digital Services:
All payments are made in exchange for access to digital services, subscriptions, or premium features as described at the time of purchase. These services are considered delivered upon activation of access, alerts, analysis, or account upgrades.
No Refunds:
All payments are final and non-refundable. This includes, but is not limited to, subscriptions, alerts, landlord report access, and analysis services. If you experience an issue with billing or service access, please contact us at support@renthistory.org.
By submitting a payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and the service details described on the Platform.

By signing up for the Watchdog Engine™ and providing payment information, you agree to these additional terms alongside the general Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
Sponsor: RIOT MOTION LLC.
This promotion is offered by RIOT MOTION LLC and is subject to these official terms. By participating, you agree to be bound by these terms and by the general RentHistory.org Terms of Service.
The promotion begins on March 20, 2026 at 12:00 AM Eastern Time and ends on May 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time (the "Promotion Period"). Entries outside the Promotion Period are void.
To receive one (1) eligible entry, a participant must, during the Promotion Period:
Only entries tied to a valid submission and REC-1 generation event during the Promotion Period are eligible. Limit one (1) entry per person/account/email address. Multiple submissions do not increase odds of winning.
Open only to natural persons who are legal residents of the United States, are at least 18 years old at time of entry, and can lawfully receive the prize. Employees, officers, and contractors of RIOT MOTION LLC and their immediate family/household members are not eligible. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.
One (1) potential winner will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries, on or about June 7, 2026. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The potential winner must respond within seven (7) days of notification and complete all verification requirements, or an alternate winner may be selected.
One (1) prize: a one-time payment equal to fifty percent (50%) of the winner's monthly rent, with a maximum payout of $1,000 USD. Prize is paid by RIOT MOTION LLC via check, ACH, or another method selected by Sponsor, generally within sixty (60) days after successful verification.
No substitution, transfer, or cash-equivalent election by winner is permitted except at Sponsor's sole discretion. If verified monthly rent is $2,000 or less, prize will be 50% of that verified amount. If verified monthly rent exceeds $2,000, prize is capped at $1,000.
As a condition of receiving the prize, the potential winner must provide documentation requested by Sponsor, including but not limited to:
Failure to provide requested documentation in the required timeframe may result in disqualification.
Winner is solely responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes, fees, or reporting obligations arising from acceptance of the prize. Sponsor may issue tax forms as required by applicable law.
Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any participant it determines, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process, using bots/automation, submitting fraudulent documents, violating these terms, or acting in bad faith. Sponsor may cancel, suspend, or modify the promotion if fraud, technical failure, legal issue, or other factor impairs proper administration.
By participating, entrants release and hold harmless RIOT MOTION LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of participation in the promotion or acceptance/use of the prize, except where prohibited by law.
Except where prohibited by law, winner may be required to permit Sponsor to use winner's first name, first initial of last name, borough/city, and/or testimonial for promotional purposes without additional compensation.
The MyAdvocate™ feature allows users to engage in real-time conversations with individuals who have volunteered or contracted as community advocates. These advocates are not licensed attorneys, nor are they certified, trained, or credentialed professionals. They are primarily tenants or tenant advocates with prior experience navigating housing issues.
All messages, suggestions, commentary, and guidance shared by your assigned advocate reflect their personal opinions or experiences and do not represent the views or official advice of RentHistory.org or RIOT MOTION LLC.
By using the MyAdvocate™ feature, you acknowledge and accept these terms, and release the Company and all affiliated parties from any claims, losses, or consequences arising from information exchanged with your assigned advocate.
By uploading or submitting rent history documents to RentHistory.org—whether in the form of plaintext, image files, PDF documents, or any other format—the user acknowledges and agrees that these documents are not subject to deletion requests and will be retained indefinitely.
Furthermore, the user grants the Company and its affiliates an unrestricted, irrevocable, and perpetual right to use, share, distribute, and publicly disclose this data at the Company’s discretion. This includes, but is not limited to:
By providing this data, the user waives any claims to its confidentiality and agrees that the Company and its affiliates may use the information in any manner that aligns with its mission to promote transparency, accountability, and tenant rights.
By using RentHistory.org, you acknowledge and agree that certain tools, features, or sections of the Platform may be offered in beta or experimental form. These components may be incomplete, subject to change, or temporarily non-functional as they undergo active development, testing, or maintenance.
The Company makes no guarantees regarding the availability, accuracy, performance, or uninterrupted operation of beta tools or features. Access to these tools is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, and their presence on the Platform does not imply a finalized or production-grade offering.
You agree that the Company shall not be held liable for any disruption, removal, inaccuracy, or unexpected behavior associated with tools still under development. Your use of such features is entirely voluntary and at your own risk.
Any Reddit applications hosted on this server (such as East Village Trivia) do NOT collect any data. These applications are provided as-is and operate without tracking, analytics, or data collection of any kind.
The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at its sole discretion, without notice, for any violation of these Terms or any applicable laws. Termination does not waive or affect any rights or remedies available to the Company under these Terms or applicable law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Company and its Affiliated Parties shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Platform or inability to use the Platform, even if the Company has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Company and its Affiliated Parties from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or related to your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or related to these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York. You consent to the jurisdiction of such courts and waive any objections to venue or jurisdiction therein.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable for any reason, the remaining provisions shall remain valid and enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by law.
